The founder-president of the Kyokushin Karate Federation of Armenia is Andranik Hakobyan, who has the qualification of 5th Dan Black Belt, the title of Shihan and about twenty years of coaching experience in Armenia. He has two master's degrees, speaks 5 languages. He is married, has two children, who are promising and exemplary sportsmen of the federation.
The Kyokushin Karate Federation of Armenia was founded in 2005, but since 2001 there had been a Kyokushin Karate club. From 2002 to the present, numerous tournaments, showcase performances, seminars and training camps have been organized. From 2005 to the present, the federation provides the participation of its athletes in foreign tournaments on a completely free basis. Over the years, the athletes of the federation have won in various international arenas, letting the Armenian anthem sound and waving the tricolor with honor in the following countries: Japan, Germany, Holland, Spain, Greece, Hungary, Russia, Georgia, etc., gaining numerous gold, silver and bronze medals for the Motherland.
The KKFA twice organized the European Championship in Yerevan, the first time in 2012 and the second in 2018. The last one was attended by about 700 athletes from 27 countries, which was an unprecedented event. The coaching staff of the KKFA consists of professionals, as they regularly participate in international seminars, training courses both abroad and in Armenia.
Today the federation operates in all administrative districts of Yerevan and regions of Armenia. The mission of the KKFA is to improve the physical and mental health of the younger generation, to disclose the best qualities of a person and to get rid of bad habits.
